This week, we joined forces with the beautiful Nehir. As a brilliant content creator and lover of all things nature and the British countryside, Nehir is such an inspiring woman! Here we discuss the great outdoors, battling seasonal depression and finding your inspiration in life….
What sparked your passion for nature and the countryside?
“My passion for nature and the countryside really began in childhood. Growing up, my family and I would often spend weekends visiting grand estates—wandering through beautifully kept gardens, exploring stately homes, and of course, enjoying a proper cup of tea along the way.
“Those early experiences left such a strong impression on me. As I got older, that appreciation for the outdoors naturally evolved into something deeper. I began exploring hiking trails, discovering hidden woodland paths, and finding joy in the quieter, slower moments that nature offers. There’s something grounding about being surrounded by greenery and open skies—it reconnects you with yourself and the world around you. That connection is what continues to inspire me today.
How can people utilise the great British outdoors to feel better and reconnect?
“The British outdoors offers such a rich variety of ways to slow down, reset, and reconnect—with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. Whether it’s a simple walk through your local park, a weekend ramble in the hills, or a peaceful moment beside the sea, there’s something incredibly healing about being in nature. We’re so lucky in the UK to have access to National Trust estates, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and countless footpaths that weave through countryside, forests, and coastal landscapes.
“Spending time outdoors, even in small ways, helps clear mental clutter. Just switching off your phone and listening to birdsong or the rustle of trees can be a powerful way to feel more present. I always encourage people to explore their local area—you don’t have to travel far to find a bit of beauty. Whether you’re going solo for some headspace, or heading out with friends and family, nature has a wonderful way of making us feel grounded again.”
We really suffer from seasonal depression here, do you have any advice?
“Seasonal depression can feel really heavy, especially in the darker months. My advice is to be gentle with yourself and take some time outside whenever you can—even a short walk in daylight or a moment by the window can help lift your mood. Nature has a quiet way of grounding us, even in small doses.
“Little routines can make a big difference too—like a morning stroll, a cosy cup of tea, or planning a weekend walk somewhere green. And don’t be afraid to reach out. You’re not alone, and brighter days will come.”
How does the great outdoors inspire you ?
“The great outdoors inspires me in so many ways—it’s where I feel most connected, most creative, and most myself. There’s something incredibly grounding about being surrounded by nature, away from the noise of everyday life.
“Nature has a way of shifting your perspective. It reminds me to slow down, to notice the little things—a soft breeze, birdsong, the play of light through trees. Those details often find their way into my writing and photography. But more than that, being outside helps me think clearly, breathe deeply, and feel recharged. It’s where ideas flow and where I’m reminded of how much beauty there is in the simple things.”
Where is your favourite English countryside spot?
“This is such a hard one to answer—I honestly have so many favourites! One of the things I’ve loved most this year is exploring regions I hadn’t visited before, each with its own charm and character. But if I had to choose, my heart has always belonged to Northumberland. There’s something truly special about it. Nestled on the border with Scotland, it has this wild, untamed beauty that’s hard to put into words. The coastline is absolutely breathtaking—long stretches of golden sand, dramatic dunes, and castles rising out of the mist like something from a storybook.”
What are your top tips for enjoying nature?
“My top tip for enjoying nature is to slow down and be present. You don’t need to go far or conquer a huge hike—just take your time, notice the little details, and allow yourself to really see what’s around you.
“Exploring locally can be just as rewarding as a big day out and there’s often so much beauty right on your doorstep. If you live in rural areas, look for footpaths, woodlands, or nearby fields. . In cities—try seeking out botanical gardens, riverside walks, or even urban nature reserves. You might be surprised by how much greenery and wildlife you can find tucked between buildings. Go with a sense of curiosity—nature always has something to offer, even in the most familiar places.
“It’s also completely okay to explore solo—I do it often and those quiet moments can be incredibly grounding and empowering. But going with friends or joining a group can be just as lovely. There’s no right or wrong way to enjoy the outdoors.
Does jewellery help you feel connected?
“A piece of jewellery can mark a moment in time, remind us of someone we love, or symbolise strength during a particular chapter of life. It carries memories in a way that’s both intimate and lasting.
“For me, jewellery passed down from my mother and grandmothers is especially meaningful. It’s an eternal link to my family and my history. When I wear those pieces, I feel a deep sense of pride and comfort—almost like they’re with me in some way. It’s a quiet kind of strength and safety that stays close, even on ordinary days.
“Jewellery has the power to inspire, ground us, and connect us to who we are—and where we come from. Whether it’s a piece you wear every day or something you reach for when you need a little reminder of your inner strength, it becomes a quiet reflection of your journey.”
How do you choose your jewellery?
“I wanted something that could last and hopefully pass onto the next generation. CB captured all of this for me in their elegant signature pieces. I adore their necklaces and earrings, as each piece has become less of an accessory and more of an outfit completer.
“I feel naked if I leave the house without some CB piece on me!”
What sets Claudia Bradby apart for me is how timeless and wearable the pieces are. There’s a real sense of thoughtfulness behind each design—elegant, understated, and effortlessly versatile. It’s jewellery that feels personal, not just ornamental. I also love that pearls are at the heart of the brand, but they’re styled in such a modern, fresh way—it challenges the idea that pearls are only for special occasions.
There’s also something very empowering about the brand’s ethos. It celebrates individuality and strength in a quiet, graceful way, which really resonates with me.
“CB jewellery isn’t just about looking beautiful—it’s about feeling confident, grounded, and connected to yourself.”
What is your favourite CB inspirational piece and why?
“The World is Your Oyster Necklace has got to be my favourite inspirational piece. It was inspired by Claudia’s mother and I cannot help but think about my own mother, who loves oysters and who has since given me jewellery to wear and forged my own stories from. The World is Your Oyster necklace is beyond metals, it’s charming and eloquent. It’s a statement piece but not intrusive. I adore it!”
