Helen Mirren | Jewellery, Style and Getting Older

Style icon and actress Dame Helen Mirren has always been an inspiration to us here at Claudia Bradby. As well as oozing Hollywood glamour in a seemingly effortless manner, Helen has also been highly motivational in her take on life and getting older.

Here we’ve put together a snapshot of Helen Mirren style looks and inspiring quotes which have really moved us over the years.

Helen Mirren Jewellery Style

Whether it’s on the red carpet or a day out at the races, Helen proves how the right jewellery can elevate any outfit and compliment your look.

Fans of the star may have recently seen Helen during an interview about her latest movie The Duke – here the Oscar-winning actress wears a simple, yet stunningly elegant green shirt dress accompanied with a pair of Claudia Bradby Boho Bee Coin Hoop Earrings. The jewellery compliments the bronzed glow of her make-up and yellow ocher backdrop to create a real laid-back boho, yet super stylish look.

Helen has a clear love for pearl jewellery and it suits her beautifully, as pictured below, she can be seen wearing Claudia Bradby Duo Silver and White Pearl Earrings at a London film festival.

At another red carpet event, Helen wears a stunning pale pink gown accessorised with a stylish fascinator and luxury pearl jewellery, including Claudia’s popular Button Pearl Studs.

Helen Mirren’s Inspiring Take on Getting Older

As well as her incredible style, you can’t help but love Dame Helen Mirren for her honest and positive take on getting older. The star believes the use of terms such as ‘anti-aging’ are wrong and takes great issue with them:

“It was something I always said to L’Oréal when I first came on board,” she says. “I so personally disapprove of it; I think it’s wrong. It puts women at a disadvantage.” Helen says in an interview with Fashion Magazine.

“When you’re 16, you think 28 is so old! And then you get to 28 and it’s fabulous. You think then, what about 42?! Ugh! And then 42 is great. As you reach each age, you gain the understanding you need to deal with it and enjoy it. The reality of being that age is great and you wouldn’t change it.”

Speaking about beauty products in general, Helen touches on the value in what they can provide mentally and emotionally.

“If you feel good, your whole demeanour—your whole way of looking at the world—is a completely different thing,” she explains, adding that she loves makeup and wears it almost every day. “The world is a complicated, difficult, challenging place to be, so any ammunition for your battle with it is a good thing.”

This fits in with our ethos that jewellery is more than just an accessory. It’s about how something special makes you feel.
