This week we joined forces with the lovely Aly, creator of parenting blog and Instagram channel All Mums Talk to give us all the inspiration we need this Mother’s Day.
Aly launched All Mums Talk after having her first child 11 years ago while building her mum community and sharing her passion for natural, sustainable living for the growing family.
The channel and blog are now Aly’s full-time job and with growing followers and big brands wanting to work with her, it’s easy to why, as her travel and sustainable lifestyle content is full of gorgeous inspiration.
We sat down with Aly, who very kindly gave us all motivation and top tips we need in the run-up to Mother’s Day….
Who is your inspiration?
My mum! I always admired her strength and courage after the many challenges she had, including losing her own mum when she was in her early 20s and how from the very little resources she had she managed to create a beautiful life with my dad for her two daughters. Still in awe!
What's one piece of advice you would give to lift a mum's spirits ?
This too shall pass 🙏…and especially as a young mum, don’t overthink every little detail, don’t let mum guilt overshadow those beautiful moments in between! And a firm favourite of mine…I always seek wisdom in those seasoned mums out there, they seem to have it all figured out 🥰
How will you be celebrating Mother's Day this year?
With my daughter, Facetiming my mum and counting the days until Easter when we get to see her!
Tell us a bit about finding your style and feeling like 'you' again after becoming a mum?
I will not lie, I did feel like I lost myself a bit in motherhood - a lot at times! But as all my 3 children are now in school and I have a bit more time to myself, I like to experiment again with styling an outfit, and I’m discovering my love for accessories. A pair of earrings and a touch of lipgloss on a school run can change your mood instantly ;)
What's the best way to treat a mum this Mother's Day?
For me it would be presence…and a little pearl gift, of course, to mark the occasion ;)
I wish I could spend every Mother’s Day with my mum and my children, but she’s so far away…
Yet as a mum myself (of young children) I look forward to the very creative cards I get every year - children always put so much effort into their work on Mother’s Day and it’s the sweetest, honest and most innocent gesture! I hope they will never stop writing me cards!
How did you discover Claudia Bradby ? And how do you feel CB differs from other jewellery brands?
It’s the love for pearls that brought us together, it feels like almost a decade ago, I may be wrong, but of course all through the wonderful world of Instagram :) I do love a sustainable label and I like to learn the story behind, and Claudia Brady is often featuring so many relatable real women, not only models, or the image magazines are usually selling us. Last but not least, I’ve learnt so much about the harvesting of pearls!
What is your favourite Claudia Bradby piece and how do you style / where do you generally wear it ?
The Lagertha Gold Pearl Drop Choker Necklace! It’s so delicate yet its stunning details are everything! don’t always wait for an excuse to go out so you’ll see me wearing it on a random school run, too ;)
How does jewellery make you feel better ?
It’s not the make-up, it’s not the clothes, but a pair of earrings that make me feel more confident! I feel almost naked without jewellery that’s why you won’t see me much without earring or a nice little necklace 🤫
Which Claudia Bradby piece does your mum love and why?
My mum is a BIG Claudia Bradby fan, after gifting her some of my own pieces, she loves her Sleek City Pearl and Coin Chain Necklace because she thinks you can never overdress!
