THE STORY BEHIND - THE REYKJAVIK COLLECTION

An elemental, elevated collection of pearl, gold and silver designs inspired by the raw power of nature within Iceland’s unique landscape.

Details from nature are captured in textured silver and gold, and embellished with organic shaped, limited edition pearls, all hand selected for each design. Beautiful details – from the aerial view of an erupting volcano, to steaming, hot rivers running through the bright green hillsides; from the intricacy of mineral patterns found around the hot spring geysers to the dramatic, and somewhat magical, landscape – all of this is reflected in this beautiful collection of designs.

"These designs make me feel alive, imbued with a sense of the adventure, the magical landscapes and the raw power of nature I enjoyed in Iceland.

They are both grounding and liberating.

They reflect the contrasts implicit in life and how travel opens our eyes and minds. And of course they all have the powerful pearl to accompany, itself grown by nature, and representing the power within us all, as well as the power for growth within us all.'

Claudia Bradby

Our Siren Mermaid Necklace and Earrings are inspired by a beautiful mermaid mural in Reykjavik. The twist of her body is integral to these 2 designs, and both designs are gently textured to feel part of the natural world.

Maybe when you see our Siren Necklace the movement of the body will remind you of something - a twisting sycamore seed pod helicoptering down, or the sinuous ripples of water moving over stones.

Claudia's interest in the power of observation – from both the macro and the micro level - underpins this beautiful collection.

And the pearls - the shape of pearls can be glimpsed throughout nature –  glinting in the rocky streams, in the detail observed.

There is a play of contrasts in this collection - the dark tumult of lava flow and the glowing lustre of the pearl; steam rising from seams in the earth - the green lush grass contrasting with the black earth - that we hope gives resonance to each design.

"Selecting each of the Biwa shaped pearls was a labour of love. Firstly I had to sift through hundreds to get the right quality pearl 'short list', with the necessary beautiful lustre; then select the right size, with a clean surface to drill our hole (to secure the pearl to the design); and after that the right shape. It's methodical and also intuitive - after all these years I get some sort of ASMR reaction on finding just the right pearl."

CLAUDIA

"I love the different personalities of the materials - the gold pieces from this season feel so boho and summery and the silver feel very dressed up and edgy - my personal must have is the volcano hoop with the pearl drop in silver."
